The Commandments
rules
Every sanctuary has its laws. Learn ours before you cross the threshold.
I. All Who Enter Must Be 21+
Last Rites is an adult venue. All patrons, characters, and players must be 21 years of age or older. Due to their child-like design, Lalafell are not welcome in this venue.II. Consent Is Sacred
No RP, flirting, touching, BDSM interaction, or escalation without consent. Consent may be withdrawn at any time, for any reason. A no is final.III. Respect the Boundaries of Others
Do not pressure, guilt, repeatedly proposition, or harass another guest or staff member. If someone declines an interaction, move on gracefully.IV. The Collar Is Not Consent
Titles, collars, relationship dynamics, character descriptions, or Dom/sub roles never imply blanket consent. Boundaries still apply, and consent should always be established before engaging.V. Do Not Interrupt Another's Rite
Do not intrude upon private scenes, staff bookings, or ongoing RP without invitation. If a room is occupied, consider the door closed unless welcomed inside.VI. The House Has Final Say
Management and security may intervene in any situation that disrupts the venue or makes others uncomfortable. Follow staff instructions when given.VII. Respect the Congregation
Treat staff as people, not commodities. Booking a service does not purchase unrestricted access to a staff member, nor does it override their boundaries.VIII. Leave Outside Conflict at the Door
No harassment, discrimination, public arguments, callouts, witch-hunting, or venue/community drama. Last Rites is not the place to settle outside disputes.IX. Do Not Disrupt the Chapel
Avoid excessive spam, disruptive emotes, oversized effects, intentionally obstructive characters, or behavior that prevents others from enjoying the venue.X. What Happens IC Stays IC
Dominance, submission, cruelty, degradation, possessiveness, and similar themes portrayed by a character are not permission to treat the player behind them the same way OOC. Keep IC and OOC boundaries clear.Ignorance of the Commandments does not absolve you of them.
By entering Last Rites, you agree to respect the venue, its congregation, and the boundaries of everyone within it.
ETIQUETTE
Good manners are their own form of devotion.
Speak Where Others Can Hear You
Public roleplay and conversation should generally remain in /say or /em so the room feels alive and others have the opportunity to engage. Keep lengthy OOC discussion and private conversations to /tell or party chat.Do Not Intrude Upon Another's Devotion
Be mindful of ongoing scenes and conversations. If two or more people are clearly engaged in RP, ask before inserting yourself into the scene rather than assuming an invitation.Share the Congregation
Our staff are here to mingle, entertain, and engage with everyone. Please do not monopolize an unbooked staff member for the entire evening. If you would like their undivided attention, Request a Rite.Negotiate Before You Play
For BDSM, intimate, or potentially sensitive RP, take a moment OOC to establish interests, limits, and expectations. /tell is encouraged for these conversations so boundaries can be discussed privately and clearly.Mind Your Presence
Please avoid standing directly on top of other characters, blocking entrances, crowding staff stations, or positioning yourself in ways that interfere with someone else's RP.Leave the Arsenal at the Door
Please dismiss minions and put away weapons while inside the venue unless they are relevant to an established RP scene. Let the people be the spectacle.Allow a Moment for Response
RP takes time. Give others a reasonable chance to finish typing and respond before sending several additional posts or assuming their character's reaction.Do Not Write Another's Scripture
Control only your own character. Do not dictate another character's thoughts, feelings, actions, injuries, arousal, submission, or response without prior agreement.Respect the Difference Between IC & OOC
A character may be cruel, demanding, submissive, flirtatious, possessive, or provocative without the player sharing those feelings. Do not treat IC chemistry, conflict, ownership, or affection as an OOC relationship or invitation.Approach With Courtesy
Doms, subs, switches, and house staff are all people first. Their role or presentation is not an invitation to touch, command, kneel for, proposition, or otherwise involve them in a dynamic without establishing interest first.Keep Public Rites Respectful
NSFW animations and public scenes are welcome within Last Rites, but participation never makes surrounding guests part of your scene. Be mindful of boundaries, consent, and the space you share with others. If the venue safeword: NARTHEX is called, all active scenes must pause immediately until staff has addressed the situation and given the all-clear to continue. When in Doubt, Ask.
A quick OOC question can prevent a great deal of misunderstanding. Consent, communication, and consideration will always be welcome within Last Rites.

The Doctrine
About Last Rites
Know the faith, the fantasy, and the desires upon which Last Rites was built.
Last Rites was created by Morti and Mautix with a simple purpose: to provide a space within FFXIV for those seeking a BDSM lounge where they can safely explore, practice, and learn about kink, BDSM, and other forms of consensual play alongside like-minded individuals. We wanted somewhere that encouraged curiosity and indulgence while still placing communication, boundaries, consent, and respect at the heart of the experience. The chapel-inspired theme was chosen intentionally, taking something familiar and traditionally sacred and twisting it through the lens of something often considered forbidden or taboo. For some, kink and BDSM are occasional indulgences; for others, they are meaningful parts of their relationships, identity, or everyday lifestyle. Last Rites embraces that devotion, treating these practices with the same sense of ritual and community that might bring others together every Sunday.Above all, Last Rites is a place to play, indulge, and explore. Whether you arrive experienced and confident or simply curious about what lies beyond the chapel doors, you are welcome to discover what calls to you at your own pace.
Last Rites is a place to explore power, surrender, control, vulnerability, and desire. Whether your tastes are gentle or intense, every interaction begins with the same foundation: communication, informed consent, and respect for the people behind the characters. We encourage our congregation to understand two common principles within BDSM and kink: SSC and RACK.
Safe. Sane. Aware. Consensual.
Fantasy may blur the lines. Consent never should.
Safe
Know what you are doing, understand your limits, and take reasonable precautions to protect everyone involved.Sane
Enter a scene with the ability to understand what is being offered, communicate your boundaries, and make informed decisions.Consensual
Everyone involved freely agrees to the interaction. Consent is specific, ongoing, and may be withdrawn at any time.SSC reminds us that kink should be approached thoughtfully and responsibly, with the well-being of everyone involved kept at the forefront.
Risk-Aware Consensual Kink — RACK
RACK recognizes something equally important: no activity is entirely without risk.Rather than assuming something is completely "safe," participants should understand the potential physical, emotional, and social risks of the activities they choose to explore.Being risk-aware means discussing those risks, knowing your own experience and limitations, establishing boundaries, and deciding together what risks everyone is genuinely comfortable accepting.Consent without understanding the risk is not truly informed consent.
before the rite
Before beginning a scene, we strongly encourage participants to discuss:
Interests and expectations
Hard and soft limits
Experience levels
Potential triggers or concerns
Safewords or safe signals
What will immediately end the scene
Desired aftercare
Anything else necessary for everyone to feel informed and comfortable
A collar, title, established dynamic, previous scene, or Dom/sub relationship does not create permanent or blanket consent.Consent belongs to the individual and can always be withdrawn.
during the rite
Communication does not end when the scene begins.Pay attention to your partner, respect established boundaries, check in when appropriate, and respond immediately when consent is withdrawn.Safewords and safe signals are not suggestions. If one is used, the agreed-upon activity stops.Last Rites also maintains a venue-wide safeword: NARTHEX. If it is called, all public scenes must pause until the situation has been addressed and staff have given permission for play to resume.
after the rite
When the scene ends, care for the people who participated in it.Aftercare will look different for everyone. It may mean reassurance, conversation, quiet space, affection, water, checking in later, or simply being left alone.Ask rather than assume.
above all
Risk can be negotiated. Power can be surrendered. Consent cannot be taken.Last Rites celebrates consensual power exchange in all its beautiful, strange, tender, and wicked forms.Communicate openly.
Know your risks.
Honor your limits.
Respect the safeword.Take care of the person behind the fantasy.

Sacred Offerings
services
Pleasures, indulgences, and experiences prepared for those willing to partake.
Every devotion takes a different form. Choose how yours begins. The Services of Last Rites are curated experiences designed to help shape and orient your time with a Court. Rather than simply booking their company and wondering where the evening might lead, you may select a service that establishes the tone, dynamic, or style of roleplay you would like to explore together. Some services center around power exchange, submission, or discipline. Others favor temptation, discovery, intimacy, education, or simple companionship. They are not rigid scripts, nor a promise of specific acts. Think of them instead as a starting point: a shared direction from which you and your Court can create an experience together. When requesting a service, you will have the opportunity to discuss your interests, expectations, boundaries, and experience level with your Court before beginning. The details of the rite are then shaped around what both participants are comfortable exploring.Services may be requested when booking an available Court during open hours or included when submitting a Make Your Offering prebooking request. Availability will vary between Courts based upon their individual interests, specialties, and boundaries. You do not need to arrive knowing precisely what you want. If something merely catches your curiosity, ask. Your Court can help you determine whether a particular service suits the experience you're seeking.Choose the devotion that calls to you. What follows is yours to explore.
Services of Devotion
the covenant
Before the altar, two souls agree upon the terms of their devotion.
The Covenant is Last Rite's most deliberately negotiated service. Rather than beginning with a scene, the court and guest first establish the relationship they intend to portray. One assumes the role of Dominant, Keeper, Priest, Confessor, Master/Mistress, or another agreed-upon authority, while the other chooses an appropriate submissive role. The important element is that neither role is presumed. Everything is established through conversation beforehand.**The Covenant is for repeat guests, or 'Regulars', who wish to establish themselves with a court they have booked multiple times in the past. Allowing them to return to an established RP rather than starting from scratch.
the offering
You have come not to receive, but to give.
The Offering is centered almost entirely around service and submission. One voluntarily places themselves into the other's care and allows them to determine how they will be useful within the established boundaries.
the penance
You knew the rule. You broke it. Now you must answer for your transgression.
Penance is Last Rite's discipline-focused service.
Beforehand, the guest and court establish rules and consequences. These can be serious, playful, theatrical, or entirely symbolic. The “punishment” doesn't have to involve physicality at all.
Services of Temptation
the temptation
You know you should resist. That is precisely why I am asking you to.
The Temptation is less about control and more about anticipation. One becomes the pursuer: charming, flirtatious, persuasive, playful, and deliberately difficult to ignore. The other may be portrayed as an innocent citizen, a disciplined knight, or simply someone who insists that they are far too sensible to fall for such things. The fun comes from the gradual testing that resolve.
the temptation of saints
I shall never force you to fall. I will simply make falling seem increasingly attractive.
This is the most narrative-heavy of the temptation services. One participant takes the role of the "Saint": innocent, devout, disciplined, sheltered, or otherwise determined to remain virtuous. The other becomes the Tempter. The Tempter's objective isn't simply to seduce the "Saint" immediately. Instead, they attempt to erode the "Saint's" certainty.
Services of Revelation
the sermon
Before one enters the mysteries, one must first learn their language.
The Sermon is essentially Last Rite's BDSM orientation disguised as instruction. Rather than immediately entering a scene, the court acts as a teacher, priest, confessor, or experienced guide.
the annointing
Be still. You have nothing to prove here.
The Anointing is Last Rite's gentlest service. It is less about authority and more about attention, sensory atmosphere, and deliberate relaxation.
The goal is to create a slow, intimate environment. The guest is encouraged to put aside the concerns of the outside world while the court controls the pace of the interaction.
Services of Companionship
the vigil
Tonight, you do not need to perform. You only need someone beside you.
The Vigil is deliberately different from the others. There is no requirement for submission, dominance, discipline, temptation, or even roleplay involving BDSM. Instead, the court provides undivided companionship. The guest might sit with the court in a candlelit chapel, private room, balcony, garden, or secluded lounge. They can talk, remain silent, tell stories, drink together, or simply enjoy another character's company.

Answer The Calling
hiring information
Think you belong among the congregation? Perhaps it is time to answer the call.
Perhaps you've lingered among the congregation long enough. Perhaps it's time to stand on the other side of the altar.Last Rites is seeking staff who share our love of immersive roleplay, kink-positive spaces, and creating memorable experiences for others. Whether your place is commanding from above, surrendering below, moving comfortably between the two, or simply tending to the chapel and those who enter it, there may be a place here for you.We are looking for Doms, Subs, Switches, and House Staff who are comfortable working within an adult BDSM-themed environment and understand the importance of communication, consent, boundaries, and separating IC interactions from OOC expectations.Experience is always appreciated, but personality, reliability, creativity, and a willingness to engage matter just as much. Last Rites is meant to be a place where both guests and staff can explore, play, indulge, and enjoy themselves among like-minded people. You needn't arrive already among the faithful.Only willing to answer the calling.
